Ever stare so long at your canvas, wondering what colors to use to color skin?
Do you stick with natural colors that reflect real human skin? Or do you go with vibrant colors and make it pop? There is no right or wrong between these options. Every artist has their own preference and that’s what makes art so unique.
But of course, finding the perfect skintone palette for your style is not always easy. It takes trial and error to explore which one is the perfect match.
In my previous post, I shared a guide on how to use the eyedropper feature on ibisPaint X. This time, I want to share with you some color palettes that you can eyedrop into your ibisPaint X! Specifically, color palettes for coloring skin!
I’m so excited to share them with you. Whatever style you are going for, you might find one that clicks with your preference here.
Let’s dive in!
1.
Who doesn’t love pink? I like pink and I like my drawing to be pinkish. I’ve been using this palette for over two years now and it’s my favorite! It’s perfect for cute styles like chibi art.
2.
If the first palette is too pink for your taste, try this one instead! This palette has warmer tones, a perfect fit if you aim for a natural look.
3.
Not a fan of bright colors? I got you! This palette has more muted tones, perfect for you who likes calm colors.
4.
Let’s get a little wild. Who said skin colors have to be skin-colored? This palette is made for the extras who love fantasy art or just want to color skin blue because why not? There are no rules!
5.
We had blue, now we have green! It’s perfect for coloring characters such as aliens or orcs.
So, have you found a palette that fits your style? If not, it’s okay! Try them out, mix and match, and don’t be afraid to have fun with them!
